Welcome to Oppdal Turisthotell

A hotel with a rich history

A traditionrich mountain hotel

Oppdal Turisthotell has a rich history stretching back 100 years. The hotel opened its doors to guests in 1924. It was the architect Gudmund Hoel who designed the hotel for the Norwegian Dining Car Company.

At the time, the construction of the hotel cost 1,221,138 kr and 85 øre. A staggering sum, and a magnificent building that impressed with its unique standard. There were soft carpets on the floor, silk on the walls, and hot and cold water in every room. And, of course, the hotel was built with slate from Oppdal.

In the years since then, guests both famous and less so have visited Oppdal Turisthotell. Its walls hold many stories, and the hotel holds a special place in the hearts of all Oppdal residents.
